Energy balls

These are full of energy and nutrients and are brilliant for days when your baby is struggling to eat much due to teething or a cold. They are high in natural sugar so you may want to limit these to one per serving! Oh, and don’t eat them all yourself…

The quantities of ingredients are a rough guide here as I find this one is ‘a little of this and a little of that’ depending of the consistency and size of the banana and avocado. Just mix until you are able to roll into a ball.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/3 avocado
  • 1 tsp cacao
  • 2 level tablespoons of chopped sultanas/dates
  • 3 tablespoons of oats
  • 1 tablespoon of cashew butter
  • 1 tablespoon of desiccated coconut

Steps


1. Mash the banana and avocado and mix in the nut butter, cacao and dried fruit.

2. Gradually add the ground oats until you have a heavy mixture that can be rolled into balls.

3. Roll into little balls, then roll through some desiccated coconut or ground almonds.

4. Refrigerate for at least an hour before enjoying. 
Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
